Throughout pregnancy, it is very common to struggle with musculoskeletal issues such as back pain, pelvic pain, or even dysfunctions such as incontinence. Pregnancy physio is a specialised physiotherapy assessment that can help to identify how to alleviate or reduce any of the musculoskeletal symptoms experienced during pregnancy.
Our specialist womenโs health physiotherapists can teach you useful and effective exercises to help reduce any pain or discomfort you experience, provide manual therapy for pain relief, whilst also providing you with useful advice on how to prevent issues from getting worse. At Bump to Beyond we understand that every pregnancy is different, so we make an effort to provide bespoke advice for each pregnancy physiotherapy session.
When attending your first pregnancy physiotherapy appointment at Bump to Beyond it is helpful to consider your clothing choices. Inevitably, with a pregnancy physio appointment, assessments and treatments will be given to different areas of your body, therefore wearing clothes that can be easily removed or manoeuvred to reveal particular areas of your body would be useful. However, if you are not comfortable with revealing certain areas of your body, communicate this to our specialist physiotherapists and they will try to find an alternative treatment method if possible.
If you are attending the clinic for pelvic floor dysfunction, it may be appropriate to conduct a pelvic floor examination, which is why wearing clothes that can be easily removed is a good idea. Again, if you do not feel comfortable with having this area of your body assessed then our physiotherapists will do what they can to accommodate your needs.
As part of the pregnancy physio appointment, you will also be asked to take part in a series of movements and exercises so that our physiotherapists can assess the level of your dysfunction and pain. Whilst this is an important part of your assessment, be sure to let us know if anything is too strenuous or painful.

Iโve been attending this womenโs health physio clinic for the last 5.5 years, and I can honestly say I wouldnโt have managed without their continued support. Debs was by my side throughout my pregnancy (during the challenges brought on by the pandemic), providing not only essential treatment but also reassurance, guidance and a sense of stability when everything else felt so uncertain. I now see them once or twice a month to help manage chronic pain from a long term condition, and the care I receive is consistently outstanding. Their expertise has and continues to make a significant impact on my everyday. The entire team is warm, welcoming and genuinely invested in their patientsโ wellbeing. A special thank you to Debs, whose skill and compassion have been invaluable over the years, Meyer, for her thoughtful and attentive support, and Angie, the wonderful Ops manager who always makes everything run smoothly and greets you with kindness every time you step through the door. This practice is a rare find and I am deeply grateful for everything they have done for me. I couldnโt recommend them highly enough.Posted on Eleanor MayneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Iโve just finished my four month postnatal course with Charlotte, and would thoroughly recommend for every new mum to visit Bump to Beyond. Charlotte has been amazing! The treatment started with a Mummy MOT which identified areas to focus on, and then Charlotte has updated and adapted the plan based on my feedback and progress. I would really recommend a mix of the services offered by Bump to Beyond - the Pelvipower machine, the Core Restore programme, scar massages and the LPG machine. I had two csections within 18 months with my two pregnancies, and recovery has been so much better this time round by following Charlotteโs expert advice. Thank you Charlotte!Posted on Charlotte CrawfordTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a mummy MOT with Caroline and she immediately put me at ease. She recommended a physio plan and a package to help me get my strength back. Iโve noticed huge improvements and feel like Iโve got my body back after 2 c sections! I highly recommend going for a mummy MOT if you have any niggles after childbirth.Posted on Re LouiseTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I saw Charlotte for mummy MOT on the 5th January and Iโm so glad I went. The 6 week post natal check with the GP was a joke and I was anxious about my health post birth and I was voiced my concerns to Charlotte who was so kind and patient and did such a thorough examination. She also gave me lots of tips on how to manage my pelvic floor heath and suggested some health and fitness programmes. I now recommend getting a mummy MOT with her at Bump and Beyond to literally every mum that I meet. Thanks Charlotte! xPosted on Jess WaltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Iโve just finished my postnatal rehab with Debs and Meyer after having my second baby and I canโt thank them both enough! Itโs massively helped me come to terms with my birth, feel much more confident both in my appearance and physically with my scar, pelvic floor and tummy gap. Iโve felt myself get stronger and confidently get back into fitness Iโve even managed to run a half marathon at 8 months postpartum something I never thought I would have done when I first met Debs a shell of myself at 8 weeks! Everyone at Bump to Beyond is so friendly and welcoming and Iโd recommend to anyone!Posted on KimTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Meyer has been absolutely brilliant. So lovely, chatty, knowledgeable, and great at her job. I felt so comfortable and confident, going into my sessions. And I also found them to be relaxing too. After my 6 sessions, my ab gap has completely closed, down to 0.5cm. I am really pleased. Highly recommend.Posted on Priya MehtaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
